Parent Enrichment Session #1

Let's face it: things have changed a lot since we were all kids.  That's why the 21st Century and ESD grants provide parents with the opportunity to take part in a parent enrichment program.  Parents will learn new skills they can bring into parenthood and learn about adolescents' psychology.  The first of this year's four parent enrichment sessions, "Strength Based Communication," was well received by the parents who attended, and we had a great turnout.  Kelly Wells, the program's leader, discussed the value and importance of communicating in a way that kids will understand.  She discussed communication skills and how to implement them at home.  It was a great program, and we look forward to the 3 remaining sessions.

Each session will be taking place at the Hornell Intermediate School.  The dates, times, and topics are:

12/17/2014 - 4:30 - 6:00: Effective Discipline
01/07/2015 - 4:30 - 6:00: Keeping Our Kids Safe
01/14/2015 - 4:30 - 6:00: Co-Parenting For Success

If you're a parent interested in attending, please contact me at 324-1303 x1575 for information.
