Stomping Grounds Owner Visits HHS

Stomping Grounds owner, Rich Harris, discusses
being an entrepreneur.
The owner of Stomping Grounds, Rich Harris, was kind enough to pay a visit to the HHS, where he offered students a glimpse into the working life of a local business owner.  Rich discussed the ins and outs of entrepreneurship, advertising, and internet marketing, while noting how important community involvement is for any successful local business.  Afterward, he broke out several games for students to play, and even held a raffle for over $100 worth of merchandise from his store, and everyone went home a winner!

Stomping Grounds is located on
Main St. in Hornell.
When people think of gaming, they often think strictly of video games.  A lot of folks are of the opinion that video games, like social media, can have a negative impact on adolescents' face-to-face social interactions.  Conversely, board games and card games like Magic and Yu-Gi-Oh offer people the ability to play in a social setting, increasing kids' social abilities while improving their skills when it comes to strategy, critical thinking, and creativity.

Stomping Grounds, located on Main St. in Hornell, specializes in in gaming (board games, Magic The Gathering, Pokemon, etc) and comics, and offers a different event for our city's youth every night of the week (most of which are completely FREE!).  From board games to MTG, Stomping Grounds is a great place for youth to game and socialize with like minded individuals, and the owner does a lot for kids in the community.  If you have a chance to pay his business a visit, stop by!
