S.T.A.R.S. Program - Job Club

On April 9, Josiah Shope of ProAction visited our 3rd grade S.T.A.R.S. students, and he taught them all about occupations related to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math).  He began with a brief introduction to the four areas of STEM, and sparked a lively conversation about careers that the students might like to pursue.  As it turned out, many of those careers were in some way STEM related.  From doctors to marine biologists, our S.T.A.R.S. students had some high aspirations.

Mr. Shope also taught our students about the job market, résumé building, and how to determine what skills, achievements, and life experiences might be beneficial to someone looking for a new career.

Job Club was a great experience for our S.T.A.R.S. students, and we can’t thank Mr. Shope and ProAction enough for all of the great work they do in Steuben and Yates Counties.
