STARS Program - Corning Museum of Glass and Ice Skating

CMOG Live Hot Glass Show
On Saturday, February 15th, our STARS Program students had the opportunity to take a trip to visit the Corning Museum of Glass, where they were given tours, watched a live hot glass show, and explored the museums educational and artistic exhibits.  Students were broken up into four small groups, each with a docent (tour guide), and given private and personalized tours of the museum.

Corning Ice Skating Park
After eating lunch at the museum, the students went over to the Corning Ice Skating Rink, where they were given skates and sent out on the ice.  The Corning Parks and Recreation staff were very helpful in teaching the students how to skate, and we can't thank them enough for all of their assistance.

We also want to offer a special thanks to the parents and families of our students who joined us on the trip.  We had our best family turn out so far, with four parents offering to chaperone, and 3 other families meeting us at museum and the ice rink.  Family involvement is something we really strive for in our program, and we were certainly successful on this trip.  If any parents ever want to join us on a trip, please don't hesitate to contact me!
