The Extended School Day/School Violence Prevention Grant enables the Hornell City School District to provide programming meant to enrich the lives of its student population, both academically and socially, at no cost to students or their families. This blog will act as a forum for students, teachers and parents to discuss programming and the many ways we can work together to make it as beneficial as possible to Hornell's students.

S.T.A.R.S. Students - Citizen Science - Part II
Jennifer Sellers, Professor at Corning Community College, visited our Bryant School S.T.A.R.S. students for a follow up to their original citizen science program. It was an exciting conclusion to her program, and she offered students the opportunity to work through Cornell University to report what birds they witnessed at the bird feeder she provided. Our students were so excited with the prospect of being scientist that they made bird feeders for their homes. With the help of our Bryant School staff, every S.T.A.R.S. student now has a bird feeder at home and will continue to assist Cornell University with their study of bird migrations!
