S.T.A.R.S. Program - Alfred University Aerodynamics Challenge

Our 3rd grade S.T.A.R.S. students took a trip up to Alfred University, where they took part in the Aerodynamics Challenge!  It started with a brief introduction to Aerodynamics - what the term means, where and why it's important, and how aerodynamics affect students' lives.  From there they did a couple of science experiments in a real college classroom.  Finally, the day culminated in an egg drop challenge, where students designed and built a case meant to protect an egg as it falls 5 stories!  While our students' egg broke, they did receive the award for, "Most Aesthetic," egg container.... it must be the art enrichment program is paying off!

A special thanks to Jean Pilgrim and Alfred University for organizing the event and inviting us to join.  The students and teachers both had a great time, and hey, we learned a few things, too!
