The Extended School Day/School Violence Prevention Grant enables the Hornell City School District to provide programming meant to enrich the lives of its student population, both academically and socially, at no cost to students or their families. This blog will act as a forum for students, teachers and parents to discuss programming and the many ways we can work together to make it as beneficial as possible to Hornell's students.

Knitting Ninjas
During the 2012-2013 school year, approximately 85 students participated in this group, and by the end, all of them were proud to have completed their own knitting projects. This year, we have plans to expand the program. Knitting will still play a major role, but other student-centered, crafts-based activities will be incorporated, with the potential for each and every student to take on the role of educator to their peers.
