2nd grade STARS students work diligently during the homework help portion of our program, and Ms. Mac is right there to help! |
The Extended School Day/School Violence Prevention Grant enables the Hornell City School District to provide programming meant to enrich the lives of its student population, both academically and socially, at no cost to students or their families. This blog will act as a forum for students, teachers and parents to discuss programming and the many ways we can work together to make it as beneficial as possible to Hornell's students.

STARS Program - Homework Help Proving to be Successful
Everyday at the beginning of program, STARS students receive about half an hour of homework help. Not only does this highlight the importance of making sure homework is finished on time, it helps the students understand that homework is one of their biggest tools for learning. The new Common Core curriculum challenges students to meet higher standards than ever before, and having structured homework time with certified teachers available is proving to be conducive to their success!
