An important part of our mission is to help students, especially those struggling with the core subjects and state exams, achieve and exceed their academic goals. We're currently offering three tutoring opportunities to help students do just that!
Extended Library Hours/Tutoring: Monday through Thursday from 3:03 to 4:45, the library is open to all 7-12 grade students. Students are welcomed to use any of the library resources to complete their work, and Mrs. Browne, High School Social Studies Teacher, is on hand daily to assist students with assignments. Students who have been suspended from school are also invited to attend extended library hours, so they can complete their work until they're able to return to school!
Lab Help: Each week High School science teacher Mrs. Jackson opens her science lab for students to come and and get things done! Students can use that extra time to complete missed labs or get some extra help with science assignments!
Global Studies Review Classes: With the January Global Studies Regents on the horizon, Mr. Gary Kelleher, High School Social Studies Teacher, has been hard at work getting students prepared for the exam. Mr. Kelleher's review classes run on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 3 pm to 4 pm in room 214 at the High School.
The Extended School Day/School Violence Prevention Grant enables the Hornell City School District to provide programming meant to enrich the lives of its student population, both academically and socially, at no cost to students or their families. This blog will act as a forum for students, teachers and parents to discuss programming and the many ways we can work together to make it as beneficial as possible to Hornell's students.
