Junior/Senior High Reader's Group

The Teen Book Fest Reader's Group has started the year with a couple of great titles!  First, students read Katherine Applegate's The One and Only Ivan, which was the 2013 Newbury Medal winner.  For their second book, group leader and librarian Paula Fox is teaming up with Home and Career's teacher Wendy Pollinger to read and discuss  What the World Eats, and interesting take on foods from around the world.  Not only does the book discuss the foods of many different cultures, it also offers readers recipes to make the foods themselves.  While Mrs. Fox works with students on the literary aspects of the book, Mrs. Pollinger will be working with students to actually cook and eat foods from the many different cultures discussed!

Part literature, part cook book, What the World Eats is providing our students with insight into the foods of various cultures!  They're also working with Mrs. Pollinger to cook and taste the foods!
