The Extended School Day/School Violence Prevention Grant enables the Hornell City School District to provide programming meant to enrich the lives of its student population, both academically and socially, at no cost to students or their families. This blog will act as a forum for students, teachers and parents to discuss programming and the many ways we can work together to make it as beneficial as possible to Hornell's students.

Reader's Groups Get New TextsMuchael
Our junior and senior high readers groups will be beginning their new books this week, and librarian/instructor Paula Elsloo has made some great selections. The Junior High group will take a crack at book 1 of the funny and entertaining N.E.R.D.S. series, which has gained praise for its education and literary value and ability to draw in reluctant readers. The senior high students will be starting the suspenseful and thrilling Girl, Stolen, by New York Times Best Selling Author, April Henry. Both selections are sure to show our students just how exciting reading can be while encouraging them to be lifelong readers.
