Chess Group Exhibition Tournament with Pioneer High School!

Last weekend, Hornell's robotics group, led by math teacher and exceptional chess player, Carl Kossow, faced off in an exhibition match against Pioneer High School.  The event, which gave 20 of our chess students the opportunity to play new players and meet like-minded peers, proved to be a lot of fun.  This coming April, Hornell will be hosting another event with 5 local districts, so this particular event was great practice.

Thank you very much to Pioneer for busing their students down to Hornell, participating in the tournament, and teaching our kids a thing or two about chess!  Everyone had something to teach on both sides of the board, so it was a great experience!

Students from Hornell and Pioneer face off at HHS!
