STARS and Earth & Sky - Rochester Museum and Science Center - December 7, 2013

Two of Hornell's groups, the 2nd and 3rd grade STARS students and the Jr./Sr. High Earth & Sky students, got together in December to take a special trip to the Rochester Museum and Science Center (RMSC).  This all day event began with an exploration of the museum's "Adventure Zone," where the 2nd and 3rd graders were able to go on a few virtual reality rides and explore the science behind the world in which they live.  The older students were happy to explore RMSC's "Expedition Earth," which is dedicated to natural history. Students then checked out the museum's featured exhibit, "Alien Worlds and Androids."  The trip culminated with an our long show in RMSC's famous Strasenburgh Planetarium.

A special thanks to parent volunteers whom joined us on this trip.  Taking 45 students on one field trip is no easy task, and we couldn't have done it without your help!

Members of the group, Earth & Sky, led by science teacher Kelly Jackson.
