Second and third grade students at Bryant School have the opportunity to participate in our S.T.A.R.S. after school program. This all encompassing program offers students enrichment and instruction that can really benefit their education!
The S.T.A.R.S. program consists of 4 parts:
1. Art Instruction: As you may or may not know, Art has been cut from Bryant School's curriculum. Being that our young students are very creative, and art instruction nurtures that creativity, we're proud to offer Art Instruction with our certified art teacher, Mr. Turner. Students will learn about historically important periods in art history while exploring their own creativity through several art projects.
2. Math/Science/Humanities Enrichment: These lessons are meant to enrich students regular school day learning. Teachers will assist students in gaining a deeper understanding of what they learn during the day, and offer students a chance to learn about American culture and cultures of the world.
3. Physical Education: Research supports the important of movement in educating both the body and the mind, and our PE piece will provide just that. Students will also learn how to make informed choices and understand the value of a physically active lifestyle. A healthy, physically active student is more likely to me academically motivated, alert, and successful, which are all attributes we'd liek to promote.
4. Snack and Homework Help: Students will have time during program dedicated to having a wholesome snack and assistance with homework.
