Students working together to build houses, cars and other structures out of legos! |
The Extended School Day/School Violence Prevention Grant enables the Hornell City School District to provide programming meant to enrich the lives of its student population, both academically and socially, at no cost to students or their families. This blog will act as a forum for students, teachers and parents to discuss programming and the many ways we can work together to make it as beneficial as possible to Hornell's students.

Lego-Based Engineering Program
Recreation facilitator Rich Scott has been teaching a Lego-based engineering program to our 2nd and 3rd grade STARS students, and the results have been phenomenal. Students are engaged and excited to build using legos, and they're learning basic engineering skills, collaboration, and teamwork in the process!
