Cooking Matters - Jr High - Final Meeting

At the culminating meeting of the Cooking Matters program, students worked with Wegman’s sushi chef, Pat and Pat from Cornell Cooperative Extension (the two women who put this whole thing together), and Chef Ken to make some delicious sushi.  From start to finish, students had a blast making two different types of sushi, and even rolled them on their own!

While the students enjoyed the food they made, they were presented with various gifts from Cornell Cooperative Extension and Wegmans.  From healthy foods to cooking thermometers and cutting boards, students left the program with the skills, knowledge, and tools they’ll need to make healthy and cost effective decisions when it comes to meal time.

So many thanks go out to Wegman's, Cornell Cooperative Extension, and all the folks involved for offering this wonderful opportunity.  It was a huge success, and it's all owed to Pat, Pat, and Ken, who dedicated their time, knowledge, and efforts to make this program so beneficial to our students!

In the coming weeks, there will be an article about the Cooking Matters program published in a few area newspapers.  Be sure to keep an eye out for that, or check back with the blog for a link! We’ll keep you posted!
The Chefs, the Pats, and the students!
